How to add extra usage
We know that sometimes you might need more usage, for example if you're working
from home or you've got a lot of large files to download. That's why we make it easy
to increase your allowance. Extra usage is £1.50 for 2GB if you add it upfront or
£1.80 for 2GB if you just pay for any extra as you use it.
If you know you don't want to pay any extra you can set a price limit. If you reach this limit,
we'll restrict your speeds to 128k and certain types of usage - Usenet, peer-to-peer and
FTP - are blocked until you are next billed. A limit is set as standard if you choose one of our standard Broadband Your Way options.
Tweak your broadband to suit your own needs
With Broadband Your Way Pro you can customise your broadband experience. Turn your broadband firewall on or off, get a Static or Dynamic IP, even control whether interleaving is on or off (turning it off will give you better performance if you're playing games).
How we optimise Broadband Your Way Pro
We use deep packet inspection to detect the type of traffic flowing through our network. Because it will only work if it's really fast, we pass gaming and VoIP traffic through the network as quickly as possible. We know that some people need all their traffic to be fast, all the time. That's why we offer Broadband Your Way Pro, where all traffic is given priority.
We have 4 traffic priority levels on our network. Broadband Your Way Pro differs from our products in that all traffic is in the top 2 levels.
- Titanium - This is the highest priority on our network. Gaming and VoIP traffic is in this level.
- Gold - All other Broadband Your Way Pro traffic is in this level.
- Silver - No Broadband Your Way Pro traffic is in this level.
- Bronze - No Broadband Your Way Pro traffic is in this level.
Gaming and VoIP traffic is given a higher priority so that it doesn't slow down because of other traffic on your home network, e.g. peer-to-peer. Broadband Your Way Pro also gives you a 5-star experience for peer-to-peer and binary USENET. Find out more about what 5-star means.
