Your computer will need a wireless adapter if you want to connect via Wireless. [Top]Setting up your hardware1. Plug one of the microfilters into your telephone socket. You'll need one microfilter for each device that uses your telephone line (Sky, fax, additional handsets). Check our Guide To Fitting Microfilters for more information. 2. Plug the grey broadband cable into the microfilter socket marked DSL. 3. Plug the other end of the cable into the DSL socket on the back of the router. 4. Connect the power adapter and switch the router on with the power button at the back. 5. The power light will initially be red and the Broadband light will flash. Wait until they stop flashing and turn green before moving on to the next section.

Make sure that your computer's wireless adapter is installed and working properly. 2. Use your wireless adapter's connection utility, or from My Network Places select Connect to a network. 3. The name of your network will be the SSID listed on the bottom of the router. Select it and click the Connect button. 4. You'll be asked to enter the wireless security key. Use the WPA PSK key shown on the bottom of the router. 5. Your computer is now connected to the network. Move onto the next section, Connecting to Broadband. Ethernet1. Plug the yellow Ethernet cable into one of the 4 available Ethernet ports on the back of your router. 2. Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into your computer's Ethernet port. 3. If you dont see the welcome page or you get a page cannot be displayed error, type http://192.168.1.254 into your browsers address bar and press enter on your keyboard. Youll be taken to the Thomson home page. Click Thomson on the left menu. When the page has loaded, click Set Up which is under the Pick a Task... list and move on to step 2
2. The Easy Setup wizard will open in a new window. Click Next.
3. On the Service Selection screen, make sure that Data (Default) is selected, then click Next. Only choose Data (Custom) if you want to use No-NAT or other advanced setup options.
4. On the Router Internet Connection screen, make sure that VPI/VCI is set to 0.38 and that Connection Type is set to PPPoA (UK Default). Type in your Broadband Username and Password and click Next. If you're not sure what these are, you can find your Broadband Username under Connection Settings in the Member Centre. The Password is the one that you use to log in to this website.
5. Now choose the type of wireless security you want to use. We recommend leaving this as WPA-PSK - it's the most secure method. Click Next.
6. Next choose a Username and Password, this is to stop unauthorised access to your router settings. You should change these to something that's easy to remember as you'll need to enter them every time you want to check or change your router settings. When you've made your choice click Next.
If you don't change the username in step 6, it'll be set to Administrator (note the uppercase A). The password will be the serial number of your router, which you'll find on the bottom.
Ignore the part in brackets, the bit you'd need in this example is CP0752SFB4J (note the uppercase CP). 7. Finally youll see a summary page, make sure everything is correct and press Start. The router will restart, and ask you for login details. These are the details you chose in step 6. Enter these and press OK. When the wizard finishes youll see a confirmation screen, click Finish. Thats it! Youre now connected to broadband.
