* Why "up to" 8Mb?
- Broadband is described as 'up to 8Mb' because download speeds will vary depending on your telephone line and location.
- Actual download speeds can reach a maximum of 7Mb, with an average speed of 5-6Mb. BT Wholesale estimates that 78% of customers will achieve download speeds of 4Mb and above.
- It is likely that speeds no greater than 2Mb will be achieved at peak usage times due to contention in our network and our suppliers' networks.
- Download speeds will vary significantly in the first 10 days after connection and then will become more consistent.

Is this suitable for me?

Broadband Pay As You Go is suitable for all types of Internet usage, particularly email, surfing, online gaming and connecting a home network.

How much can I use?

Broadband Pay As You Go comes with 2GB of data transfer included (more than enough for most customers) and you can add extra data transfer whenever you need to for just £1.50 per 2GB. Alternatively you can simply pay for extra usage (in 2GB blocks) as you use them at £1.80 each.

Any usage between midnight and 8am is free, so you can make downloads between these hours without paying another penny.

How is traffic managed?

Broadband is a shared service, so to ensure everybody gets the right experience appropriate to their product we manage Broadband Pay As You Go traffic. Because Broadband Pay As You Go customers pay for what they use, we prioritise this traffic at all times. Find out more about traffic management.

Broadband PAYG comes with 120 minutes of Broadband Phone broadband phone calls (sometimes called VoIP) to use at evenings and weekends each month*. International calls and calls to mobiles are also at cheap rates so you can make great savings on your phone bill.

For every year you stay with Plusnet we'll guarantee that the cancellation cost decreases. What does this mean? If you cancel within the first year, then you will pay £47 for the activation. For every year you stay we'll reduce this by £9.40. If you also choose to take a modem as part of the offer there will be an additional cancellation fee of £25 in the first year and this will reduce by £5 for each year that you stay.

You can choose an annual or monthly contract when you choose broadband.
