Summary: Information on how you can reduce the amount of spam emails you are receiving.
In Section 1, we saw that Marysia's account allows email to be sent to any email address that ends in @marysia.plus.com. Although this is a useful feature for Marysia, it does make her more prone to receiving spam emails. Let's look how we can make spammers' lives much harder!
Step 4 - Removing the Catch All optionThe first thing you can do, which is also the most effective and easiest, is the turn off the Catch All facility. This will then reduce the number of email addresses that email can be sent to, limiting the opportunities for spammers to reach us. To do this click on the Catch All tab on the right hand side of the navigation bar as shown here:
This takes us to the following page:
Here you change the status from On to Off. Once you've done this, click the SUBMIT button to make the change. Alternative: Worried that you might still need email send to this address? In the short term, you could always leave your Catch All on, instead changing which mailbox the email is delivered to. This allows you to keep all the emails, but separating them means you only need to check this mailbox now-and-then. Once you're happy you're getting all the emails you want, simply turn the Catch All option off using the instructions above. If you've turned your Catch All off, you will have reduce the number of email addresses on your account. For our example account, we're left with only the list we first saw: marysia@marysia.plus.com
