Step 6 - Using different addresses to control your email
One of the most effective ways to control spam emails is to use a separate email address for each mailing list or website that you sign up to.
Marysia has recently seen a website that gives information about special offers and coupons available for various stores. She's going to use a new email address used only for this site, to help her see if she starts receiving spam email as well as email about the site itself.
The Alias tab is where a different email address can be set up easily to meet this need. You can see this on the navigation bar:

Marysia could set this up as a new mailbox with its own username and password, but she's only going to be reading these emails, so an alias is the best option to go for. Here's the Alias screen she will be shown:

As you can see from this screenshot, Marysia already has three aliases set up.
To add a new one, it's just a case of clicking the ADD NEW ALIAS button:

Marysia creates an alias called specialoffers, chooses her 'marysia' mailbox and clicks ADD.
Now, all email for specialoffers@marysia.plus.com will be delivered to marysia@marysia.plus.com. She doesn't need to do anything to her email software to receive these.
If she does have a problem with spam as a result of doing this, all she needs to do is to delete the specialoffers alias. The spam will then stop. Remember, if you have your Catch All option turned on (see Section 2 - Removing your Catch All Option ), this spam would still arrive!
