1. What does the Anti Virus tool do?Our Anti Virus tool checks email delivered to your Plusnet email account before you receive them. [Top]2. Who can use the Anti Virus tool?All Plusnet accounts (Broadband and Dialup) have access to the Anti Virus tool. To turn it on or off go to the Spam tab in Manage My Mail. [Top]3. Is the Anti Virus service as secure as other commercial virus checking software?Yes and you don't need to maintain or update it. We update the virus checker regularly, meaning your email stays protected at all times. [Top]4. Does activating the Anti Virus tool guarantee that I will never receive an email virus?Most viruses will be detected and quarantined before you can download them, but we can never guarantee that nothing will get through. It's a good idea to use a separate Anti Virus program on your computer as well. [Top]5. Is the Anti Virus tool compatible with all operating systems?Yes. Email is scanned before it reaches your computer, so it doesn't matter which operating system you use. [Top]6. How do I know when I receive an email with a virus?Emails are scanned when they reach our email servers. If we find a virus, we'll quarantine it and send an email to let you know where it came from. [Top]7. How do I get a quarantined email?If we quarantine something we'll send an email to let you know. Reply to that and we'll release the quarantined message and send it to your inbox. If this doesn't work, it may be because your email program is not including the original message in your reply. In this case, copy and paste the text of the alert email into a new email and send it to - unquarantine@quarantine.plus.com. If you continue to have trouble, use the Help Assistant to report the problem to our Support Team. Note: Quarantined emails are held on our system for 7 days. [Top]8. Does the Anti Virus scan incoming and outgoing mail?No, the Anti-Virus protection only covers incoming email sent to your address. [Top]9.
